Russia’s Miratorg to invest 4 bln rbl in pet food plant
KURSK, Feb 21 (PRIME) -- Russian agricultural holding Miratorg plans to start construction of a 4 billion ruble pet food plant in the Kursk Region in March–May, President Viktor Linnik told reporters on Tuesday.
The plant’s annual projected production capacity will amount to 25,000 tonnes and sales will start from 2018, he said.
Still, the company doesn’t plan to compete with market leaders. “Mars and Nestle are serious guys, we have no goal to compete with them head-on,” he said, adding that the plant will focus on production of delicacy and dry pet foods.
Miratorg also plans to invest 2 billion rubles in the launch of deep processing of cattle skins at its plant in the Bryansk Region. “We will produce a so-called high-quality crust, which is used in production of leather interiors of cars,” Linnik said, adding that the plant’s maximum processing capacity will amount to 500,000 skins and Miratorg will export the products of the facility.
